Designed by Lucian Ercolani. Few forms convey the warm, familiar essence of home as succinctly as that of the rocking chair. Since the beginning of time, designers and craftsmen have experienced a profound, oftentimes intuitive connection to wood as a building material. Lucian Ercolani echoed this affinity in 1956 with the construction of the Chairmakers Rocker, a stirring ode to the historic profession of chairmaking, suffused with thoughtful, crafted details and raw materiality.

A paradigmatic example of classic Windsor craftsmanship, this design features a traditional spindle backrest with eight, finely-tuned spindles, curved to accommodate the body’s natural contours. Durable, solid wooden legs grant the chair a range of movement, allowing users to lean back and enjoy the simple pleasure of sitting in a rocking chair.
