Designed by Tom Dixon.
The design inspiration for the Rock Candleholder stemmed from Tom’s many trips to India and observing the hand lathe workers of Rajasthan and Agra. The idea was to create simple shapes that could be hand turned on the lathe and constructed like children’s building blocks.
A playful set of five stackable and reconfigurable candle holders that create domestic sculptural interventions.
Carved from natural marble, handmade on a lathe. The pattern and texture of each piece are entirely unique, depending on the block of marble it was carved from, which creates an individualistic quality in every product.

More information about Rock Candleholder by Tom Dixon
Tom Dixon rose to prominence in the mid 1980s as a maverick, an untrained designer with a line in welded salvage furniture. While working with the Italian giant Cappellini he designed the widely acclaimed ‘S’ Chair.
In the late 90s Tom became Creative Director at Habitat, responsible for rejuvenating the brand while maintaining Terence Conran's vision of enriching everyday life through simple, modern design.
In 2000, Tom's work was recognised through being awarded an OBE by Her Majesty The Queen. His work has been acquired by the world’s most famous museums for permanent collections of the Victoria & Albert Museum, London; MOMA, New York; and the Centre Pompidou, Paris.
Since setting up his own eponymous design company in 2002, Tom’s work has become even more prominent through the development of many iconic designs and interiors.
