Eames Fiberglass Chair DSW by Vitra

Eames Fiberglass Chair DSW

Vitra

Designed by Charles and Ray Eames. The Fiberglass DSW Chair, also known as Dining Height Side Chair Wood Base, was originally developed in 1950, when the Eameses recognised and fully exploited the advantages of fibreglass: mouldability, rigidity and suitability for industrial manufacturing methods. Charles and Ray also attached great importance to the use of colours – as fibreglass had previously only existed in a colourless version.

Vitra has now relaunched the Fibreglass Side Chairs and Fibreglass Armchairs by Charles and Ray Eames in some of the early original colours. The fibreglass shells are characterised by their lively visual appeal, which is much-prized today.

Loose Soft Seat cushions for extra comfort are available separately.
Alternatively available with a moulded foam seat cushion (screwed to the seat shell) in  Hopsak Duotone fabric- please contact us for pricing.
