Pottery Black Ceramic by Vincent Van Duysen for When Objects Work

Pottery Black Ceramic

When Objects Work

Designed by Vincent Van Duysen. The Pottery collection of jars and pots epitomises Van Duysen's spare aesthetic, natural materials and subtle use of colour. Evocative of the shelves of stacked vessels in a potter's studio.

Each piece is composed of two elements: an earthenware container and a wooden lid or top plate. Whilst the angle of the curve and the smooth profile of each pot are fixed, the height of the vessels and lids vary.

The Pottery collection is available with lids in either Oak or Walnut and bowls in Oak, Walnut, Ceramic, Marble, Stone or Glass.
Ceramic, Stone and Glass Pottery Collections are all listed separately.

Vincent Van Duysen

Vincent Van Duysen was born in Lokeren, Belgium, in 1962, and undertook a degree in architecture at the Higher Institute of Architecture Sint-Lucas, Ghent.

In 1990, he opened his own studio in Antwerp concentrating on architecture and interiors. A strong relationship exists between Van Duysen’s designs and architectural projects – he develops furniture and objects with an architectural perspective, creating spatial relations rather than shapes. Subsequently many of his designs reference primary forms or historical objects which Van Duysen redefines through a contemporary lens.
