Affectionately known as the Mama Bear Chair, the CH78 Lounge Chair was originally introduced in 1954 as a design antidote to the often-heavy lounge chairs of the time.
In 2024, Carl Hansen & Søn celebrates the chair's 70th anniversary by offering a new poetic upholstery colour palette, inspired by some of Hans Wegner's early watercolour sketches. The upholstery, Umber, is a soft, woollen fabric inspired by the aesthetics of earthy brown pigment, and the organic shapes of the chair itself.
Available until January 31st, 2025 only.
An optional neck pillow in matching fabric can be added to complete the look.
