Dulwich Rectangular Extending Table By Matthew Hilton

Dulwich Rectangular Extending Table By Matthew Hilton

Case

Designed by Matthew Hilton. Designed by award-winning furniture designer Matthew Hilton, the Dulwich Extending Table features exquisite proportions, with the slender legs drawn away from the corners to maximise leg room. The tabletop expands with a smooth and simple pull, to allow for the addition of two extra leaves. The extension leaves can be stored in the concealed compartment under the table top when not in use.

The build quality of the Dulwich table is exemplary, and evident in its materials and finish. It features solid wood legs, edge and under-frame in a choice of oak, walnut or black stain; a veneered top and leaves; felt-lined under-frame leaf storage; mechanical ball-bearing extension system; and is finished with a clear polyurethane lacquer.

Suitable for seating either 6-10 (Small version) or 8-12 people (Large version), the Dulwich Extending Table provides a versatile and elegant choice for dining and entertaining.

Matthew Hilton

Born in 1957, Matthew Hilton studied at Portsmouth College of Art and then at Kingston Polytechnic. After graduating he worked for Capa as an industrial designer and model maker. He then set up his own design studio/workshop in 1984.

Matthew Hilton doesn't believe in design movements, and he really doesn't like the concept of design as a fashion. Rather, he thinks the design process is part of the evolution of any object through history. Designing with the end user in mind, and whether that means a household of ten or one, he takes pleasure in finding the fluid, easily adaptable solution to fit today's domestic spaces.
