Wire Floor Lamp
Verpan
Designed by Verner Panton.
Over the course of his career, Verner Panton (1926-1998) introduced a series of modern lamps with personalities unlike any of his Scandinavian contemporaries.
The iconic Wire Floor Lamp from 1972 is defined by the chrome-plated steel wire framework that widens at the top to support the white hemispherical plastic shade. The bulb is contained in a small, also hemispherical metal reflector, which guides the light to the inside of the shade.
The wire frame gives the design a distinctive, yet very light and non-intrusive appearance, and the white shade offers plenty of ambient light.
