Chasen draws its inspiration from the bamboo whisk central to the tea ceremony - whose delicate filaments keeps changing shape. The fascinating method of slicing bamboo into fine longitudinal strips has been adapted to use sophisticated chemical erosion technology. After bending, a steel sheet is transformed into a polymorphous luminous object.
The user can adapt the overall shape of the light by adjusting the louvres.

Materials
Chemically photo-etched stainless steel body and borosilicate diffuser. Liquid paint protection.
Die-cast aluminum base, 30% fiberglass-reinforced polyamide ceiling rose attached to a pressed and galvanized steel ceiling fixture.
Steel suspension cable, FEP/PVC colour matched cord.
