At the beginning of the 1950s Prouvé designed the EM Table for his Maison Tropique project. With every single detail governed by its construction, the table follows the aesthetics of necessity. It illustrates structural forces in a way that is otherwise only familiar in the context of civil engineering works.
Vitra is expanding the palette for Jean Prouvé’s furniture to include some of the original Prouvé colours: the existing options of deep black, Japanese red and Blanc Colombe will be joined by Gris Vermeer, Bleu Dynastie, Blé Vert and Bleu Marcoule.
