VLA61 Monarch Armchair by Vilhelm Lauritzen

VLA61 Monarch Armchair

Carl Hansen & Søn

Designed by Vilhelm Lauritzen. The VLA61 Monarch Chair was designed by Vilhelm Lauritzen in 1944, and only ten chairs were originally produced. In collaboration with Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects, the chair has been relaunched with a contemporary perspective on material composition as well as details.
Each chair is the product of hours of complex and passionate craftsmanship - all parts are polished by hand several times, and the top rail is only upholstered when the chair is assembled in order to achieve a perfect finish.

Available in FSC-certified oak and mahogany with upholstery in bouclé textile and leather.

Carl Hansen opened his furniture workshop in Denmark in 1908 and soon became known for the high quality of his work. From one off production the company gradually began to produce small series of its most popular pieces. This combination of hand craftsmanship and rational series production soon became the firm's hallmark - and continues to set it apart today.

Carl Hansen & Søn is the largest manufacturer of furniture designed by Hans J. Wegner and also produces outstanding furniture classics by some of Denmark's most influential architects such as Mogens Koch, Kaare Klint and Ole Wanscher.

True to its founding values, it is Carl Hansen & Søn's ambition to make furniture of the highest quality and beauty with respect for sustainable design, materials and more than 100 years tradition of craftsmanship.
