Oiva Toikka (1931-2019) is one of the greatest names in Finnish design. First created in 1972, his iconic collection of glass birds is still handcrafted at the Iittala Glass Factory today, continuing a rich fusion of glassmaking traditions.
Each mouthblown bird is unique down to the minutest detail, making them truly one of a kind art objects.
Whooper Swan is the national bird of Toikka’s native Finland. The contrast of the snowy white glass body and dark beak enhance the elegant beauty of the bird.
